and I'm Joel. This is the story on page 69 of Lietuvos Laukai. First the story.

Sakalas Ir Gaidys

Sakalas taip priprato prie savo šeimininko, kad 
šaukiamas lėkė artyn ir tūpė jam ant rankos.
O gaidys bėgo šalin nuo šeimininko ir 
šaukė, jei norėdavo jį sugauti. Kartą sakalas sako gaidžiui: 

- Tu, gaidy, esi labai nemandagus.
Tu, tik alkanas būdamas, lendi prie šeimininkų.

Mes - tai visai kas kita: mes ir stiprūs, ir lakstome greitai,
kaip šaudyte šaudome, 0 vis dėlto nebėgame nuo žmonių,               1:00
bet šaukiami lekiame prie jų ir ant rankų tupiame.
Mes nepamirštame, kad jie mus maitina.

Gaidys jam atsakė:

- Jūs nebijote žmonių ir nebėgate nuo jų todėl, kad
nesate matę keptų sakalų, o mes dažnai matome keptus gaidžius.

26. Kodėl gaidys užsimerkęs gieda?
Du gaidžiai vienam kieme nesugyvena.

And now we will hear the story with a translation

A fable

Sakalas taip priprato prie savo šeimininko,
A falcon got so accustomed to be near his master,

kad šaukiamas lėkė artyn
that when summoned he flew close to him

ir tūpė jam ant rankos.
and perched on his hand.                              (Aldona's mike died here)

O gaidys bėgo šalin nuo šeimininko ir šaukė,
But the rooster ran away from the master and shouted,

jei norėdavo jį sugauti.
if he wanted to catch him.

Kartą sakalas sako gaidžiui:                                        3:00
One time the falcon said to the rooster: 
---
- Tu, gaidy, esi labai nemandagus.
You, rooster are very impolite.

Tu, tik alkanas būdamas,
You only when hungry,

lendi prie šeimininkų.
get close to the master.

Mes - tai visai kas kita:
We, that's something else entirely:

mes ir stiprūs, ir lakstome greitai,
we are strong, and we run about quickly,

kaip šaudyte šaudome, 
like shot from a gun

o vis dėlto nebėgame nuo žmonių,
but nevertheless we do not run from people,

bet šaukiami lekiame prie jų                                     4:00
but if summoned we fly to them

ir ant rankų tupiame.
and perch on their hands. 

Mes nepamirštame, kad jie mus maitina.
We do not forget that they feed us.

Gaidys jam atsakė:
The rooster answered him:

- Jūs nebijote žmonių
You do not fear people

ir nebėgate nuo jų todėl, 
and hence do not run from them,

kad nesate matę keptų sakalų,
because you have never seen fried falcons,

o mes dažnai matome keptus gaidžius.
but we often see fried roosters.
